
Swimming I & II(3rd July, 2008)
The students of grade one enjoyed swimming in the school itself. Diving, Splashing water and swimming – it was all refreshing.
Swimming III-V (6th and 9th May, 2008)
Who does not love to swim especially when it is hot? Who does not like to play with water? All the students of Grade III, IV and V enjoyed swimming in the natural environment of Eshani Club, Ravibhawan.

A friendly tournament was held
between Kathmandu Pragya Kunja School and Kasthamandap School.
A Visit to Paddy Field (8th August, 2008)
On the occasion of International
Land-Conservation Day, the students found exciting to visit the paddy field
located at Old Thimi where they could see terrace farming i.e. one of the
effective methods of land conservation
The students of grade three,
four and five recited the poems composed by them in the school.
On the occasion of Guru Poornima,
the students of Grade III, IV and V participated in group discussion and presentation
on the topic “Relationship between Teachers and Students”.
Besides, the students offered gifts to the teachers.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES



On the occasion of World Environment
Day, the students of Grade IV and V had a survey on “Cleanliness around
Our Community”. The students were divided into four groups and went
to the community along with a teacher in each group.
• The main wastes produced from their houses were kitchen wastes and
paper products.
• Most of the respondents agreed that the metropolis did not come on
time to take away the wastes.
• The main type of pollution, according to them, was land pollution.
• Few of them reported that they had participated in cleanliness campaign.
• Majority of them agreed that public participation is necessary to
keep the environment clean.

The school celebrated Bhanu
Jayanti by organizing ‘Nepali Poem Writing and Recitation’ in
the school premises. The students of Grade III, IV & V recited the poems
composed by them.



Fun with Spelling I-V (17th June, 2008)
The school organized ‘Fun with Spelling” in the school premises. For Grade I and II, it was conducted within the class whereas for Grade III, IV & V it was conducted in the Assembly Hall. Altogether they were divided into fourteen groups. The Programme was held in three rounds. Each group was given hundred marks. Each mark was deducted for every incorrect spelling.
A visit to the Zoo (12th June, 2008)
The students of Grade I visited Central Zoo, located at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. All the students enjoyed a lot. Most of them were surprised to watch the birds eating flesh and were interested to observe squirrels climbing up and down on the branches of the trees.
A Visit to Hydro-lab, Pulchowk (11th June, 2008)
The students of Grade IV and V visited Hydro-lab situated at Pulchowk, Lalitpur. The students were found to be very interested to observe the model of Maikhola, Upper Tamakoshi, Khudi & other Hydropower plants and the instruments for checking sediments. One of the students of Grade V says “I felt very nice because we could see and learn so many things. We came to see the models of rivers and it was very interesting. I want to visit there again”.

Students of Grade II visited
Balaju Baisdhara where they got to see water spouts & fishes of different
colour in their natural habitat. They also saw natural environment there.
They were equally excited to see tortoise as well.

With an objective of observing
animal and bird life closely, the students of Grade III and IV made a visit
to Zoo. The students were enthralled to see the animals and birds. It was
quite effective because they got to learn so much about the world of animals
and birds.
The students from Grade I to
V organized ‘Fun with English’ within the school premises. There
were 35 stalls in all with different presentations in which they could be
acknowledged that learning is also possible without tears. On the occasion,
Kathmandu Don Bosco was the guest school
Healthy mind exists in a healthy
body. The school leaves no stone unturned to maintain the health standard
of its pupils. In regard to this, the students had their health check up by
Student Care Foundation.
The school celebrated Children’s
Day by conducting free arts and various sports related activities. On the
occasion, different games were conducted for all the classes from Nursery
to Grade V. Musical Chair, Puzzle Race, Math Race, Three- legged Race, Caterpillar
Race, Counting Beans, Treasure Hunt, Thread the needle etc. were some of the
main attractions. The winners were awarded prizes.
The students of Grade I went on a Dry Picnic at Tribhuwan Park, Thankot. The students shared their food with their friends. They had potluck and had a wonderful time. It was a special day for them with lots of fun games.
Wall Climbing (18th September, 2008 )
The students of Grade V had
an exciting day when they experienced the adventure of mountaineering at Pasang
Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation located at Shankha Park. According to Devika,
one of the students, “it helped us to develop our confidence along with
the height of the wall.”
